Portuguese Blue Biobank structure

The digital platform of the Portuguese Blue Biobank (BAP) uses the collection management system “Arctos Collaborative Management Solution”, developed by the Consortium Arctos.

This system allows for the centralization of marine biodiversity from the different collections of the BAP in a single online portal, guaranteeing the quality and standardization of information according to the principles of "FAIR data".

Specimen/strain information is entered into the Arctos system by collection managers and subsequently imported via the API provided by the system to the BAP platform. This allows the catalog, which centralizes all this information, to redirect users to the individual websites and catalogs of each collection.
